What BhaktiRoz is

BhaktiRoz (भक्ति रोज़) is a home for daily Hindu devotion: aartis, chalisas and stutis organised deity by deity, with a simple reading experience that works well on a phone in the puja room. It is run by the BhaktiRoz team in India.

Today the site covers 10 deities and 21 texts. Each text is shown in Devanagari, in Roman transliteration for those more comfortable with English letters, and with a short meaning for every verse.

What you can do here

• Today (आज): the deity of the day and that day's paath, with a gentle streak to keep the habit going.
• Puja Mode: large text, one verse at a time, a paath counter, and the screen kept awake. Puja Mode never shows ads.
• Sankalp: an 11, 21 or 40-day vow tracker, a 108-bead mala counter and calendar reminders.

How we prepare the texts

The aartis and chalisas are traditional devotional texts. Printed editions differ in small ways, so we check each text against a printed edition or with a pandit. Texts that have been checked carry aपंडित द्वारा जाँचा · Verified badge; checking of the current texts is under way.

The English meanings are written by us in simple language to help understanding. They are an aid to devotion, not a scholarly translation. If you find a mistake, please tell us; corrections are always welcome.

Our approach to ads and privacy

The site is free and may show ads to cover its costs. Ads are never placed inside the lyrics or in Puja Mode. There are no accounts: your streak, sankalp and settings stay in your own browser. See thePrivacy policy and Disclaimer for details.
